United 93

I'm late to the discussion of UNITED 93, having just seen it yesterday. It was devastating, and superbly acted. The naturlistic style favored by director Paul Greengrass couldn't have been more appropriate for this film.

I enjoyed (is "enjoyed" the right word in this context?) seeing the 'behind-the-scenes' stuff that was going on the ground, as well as the fictionalized account of what might have happened on board. It took me back to that day, when everyone at work was trying to get information on Yahoo or CNN and couldn't get the pages to load because of the net congestion (since the rest of the world was doing the same thing), and watching the towers fall on a giant screen, in an auditorium where everyone had gathered to watch what has happening.

Sad days. The film is an appropriate and stirring tribute to courage in the face of chaos, both on the ground and in the plane.
