Clean Freak in the news

Check out this article for a reference to Clean Freak in a Carolina paper (for the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival).

UPDATE: Okay everyone, I googled it, found a new working link, and am trying again. Click above and try to read it. Whether it'll really work this time is anyone's guess.

Dang, I think so. I even searched for the link on the site, and THEIR link to it isn't working! I'll update and repost when I find it...

Yeah, I'd like to see the article...

That fest is about an hour or two away from me, so it would be cool to know what's happening.

Looks like I missed the screening, but hopefully I can make it up to the festival next year. I think I *was* tentatively slated to be on a panel at the fest, but I'm sort of relieved--given the amount of work that faces me--that it fell through.

The description of your film, unfortunately, could have been better worded. I think the writer wasn't quite sure how to "read" the movie.

That being said, given how many films are playing at the festival, to be mentioned as a highlight is pretty awesome.

If I can get some work done over the weekend, I my try to go down there for the day on Sunday...

I didn't think the description was bad, honestly. I suppose the "semi-humorous" comment could be taken to mean different things (only partially funny vs. intended as part serious/part funny), so I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

And yes, being mentioned as a highlight seems like a good thing. When there are a lot of films in a fest and the fest director mentions yours to the reporter (which is usually how it gets into the article, I think), my impression is that the film is memorable to them. I had a similar experience in the early days with American Messiah, and it ended up winning an award at that fest.

Yaaay! The link is working now!

Not a bad little bit of press, considering how many films are not mentioned.

Best of luck with it.

Yep, always nice to be mentioned. It means someone is paying attention...
