Just found out today that I am now a member of the Independent Writers Caucus of the Writers Guild of America, west.
Which is kind of cool.
Which is kind of cool.
This is the blog of Texas filmmaker and Baylor University professor Chris Hansen. I discuss filmmaking and screenwriting issues on here, as well as pretty much anything else that strikes me. "Flyover Country," by the way, is Hollywood's affectionate name for any part of the U.S. that is NOT L.A. or New York. I am made of win with a side of awesome sauce. Or so I've been told.

That's awesome!
And how do they decide if your in the West or East when your in the middle?
BK -- I think the Mississippi River is the dividing line...
Um, maybe I'm mistaken, and you can tell me if I'm wrong, but I always thought the difference between WGA East and West was that West was for film writers and East was for television writers.
Anyway, Chris, congrats.
As far as I know, it's not that hard and fast, but they did specifically ask me where I lived and indicated that I had to live west of the Mississippi.
Oh -- and there might be some other breakdown, but TV writers are not in the east, because the entire TV industry is in L.A.
Okay. I guess I misunderstood.
When will we see the endings screening? How close it is to be done?
It's still got a ways to go in post-production. We don't have a final picture cut yet, then there's sound and color correction.
So -- hoping for end of spring completion...
